Matching ripening and demand 
When the fruit arrives at the warehouse, it’s not yet ripe. It undergoes a ripening process there, and to minimize product waste and align shipping with sales demand, this ripening process must be carefully managed. The ability to adjust the planning—such as changing varieties, sizes, or pre-producing on specific days—is key. The ultimate goal is to maximize shelf life and ensure that consumers receive the highest quality fruit. 

Smooth planning processes
The project team gathered insights from buyers, planners, ripening experts, and sales teams to understand the current processes. Using this information, they created a streamlined flow that connected all the processes. Now, the planning process begins with accurate forecasts and sales demands. By factoring in actual stock and ripening parameters, Nature’s Pride can generate a sales and product planning schedule. This is done daily for up to three weeks ahead and weekly for up to thirteen weeks (approximately three months) in advance.

Reducing product waste
Nature's Pride now gains valuable insights into incoming quantities, actual demand, and the predictive ripening process, all integrated into a suite of essential business applications. This enables the company to ensure that the right products are delivered to customers at the right time, while minimizing both operational and product waste.
