About the role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Technical Application Manager to join our Service Management team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the technical management, performance, and security of our business applications. You will coordinate a team of specialists, collaborate across departments, and ensure our applications align with business needs and deliver optimal performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Application Management:
Oversee the full lifecycle of applications: installation, configuration, maintenance, and decommissioning. - Technical Support:
Provide expert-level support for application-related issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure timely resolution. - Incident & Problem Management:
Manage incidents and problems, identify root causes, and implement long-term solutions to prevent recurrence. - Change Management:
Plan and execute application changes with minimal disruption to business operations. - Performance Monitoring:
Monitor and optimize application performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks. - Security Management:
Implement and maintain security best practices to protect applications from threats. - Team Coordination:
Coordinate and mentor a team of technical application specialists, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. - Collaboration:
Work closely with infrastructure, development, and business teams to ensure seamless application delivery and support. - Stakeholder Communication
Translate complex technical information into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required Skills & Experience
- Operating Systems: Proficient in Windows and Linux environments.
- Databases: Experience with SQL Server, Oracle, and MySQL. Non-SQL is a plus.
- Application Servers: Familiarity with IIS, Apache, WebSphere, Tomcat, or JBoss.
- DevOps Tools: Knowledge of Git, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes.
- Monitoring Tools: Experience with tools like Elastic, Splunk or Dynatrace.
- ITSM Tools: Proficiency in Jira, or similar platforms.
- Programming/Scripting: Working knowledge of Java, Python, or scripting languages.
- Troubleshooting: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Frameworks: Solid understanding of ITIL practices for incident, problem, and change management
- Communication: Communicate fluently and professionally in Dutch with clients and colleagues. Produce written content (e.g., emails, reports, documentation) in flawless Dutch. Understand and interpret complex Dutch texts with ease.
- Location: Living in the Netherlands close to Utrecht area is a plus
