Challenge
As the largest franchise retail chain for gardening products in the Benelux, Intratuin has over 60 stores in The Netherlands. For the supply of their products, all stores use a single purchasing system to which all (international) branches are connected. Each store has various buyers (e.g. green for indoor or outdoor) and these buyers can prepare orders (also with Android handheld) with specific products for the Store manager to confirm. Sometimes (seasonal) products are being sent from the main distribution center. This may result in shipping various containers per week to a single store, which indicates the importance of this order system.
The system that is currently used for odering greens no longer meets the increasing demands. The system is outdated and will no longer be supported (end of life). As a result, there was a very important cause to have a new order system in place as soon as possible.
Solution
Intratuin has asked Product League to develop a high-paced MVP, by analyzing current functionalities and market demand, which will replace the current system and meet today’s continuously increasing customer demand. We built a custom application for web ánd mobile that replaces the current critical system including all communication with all 3rd systems (e.g. web services such as stock and a back-office system). The order system can now be used via mobile hand-held terminals in the store which saves a lot of time for the store teams.
